The new platform places.georgia.travel was created on the initiative of the Georgian National Tourism Administration.
The platform brings together tourism sites and services in Georgia, allowing both local and international visitors to easily find desired locations and services based on themes, interests, and geographic location.
In addition, representatives of the tourism industry and related sectors are given the opportunity to list their services and products on the platform, while simultaneously being automatically included in the unified database of the Georgian National Tourism Administration. The information will be accessible both to individuals interested in traveling to Georgia and to businesses and various organizations operating in the tourism sector. Registration is free of charge.
According to Georgian legislation, mandatory registration on this platform for guides, travel agencies, and tour operators came into force on June 1 of the current year. The registration deadline is set until the end of 2026, after which fines will be enforced starting from January 1, 2027.
Requirements for guide registration include:
- Uploading the front and back sides of an ID card.
- If you are permanently employed by a company, you must select the “employed by company” option and upload a certificate from the company.
- Alternatively, you must select the “self-employed” option and upload an extract from the Entrepreneurs’ Registry.
