An individual engaged in tour guiding activities who shares the Association’s goals, principles, and values may become a member of the Association.
Membership in the Association is of two types:
Full member – a natural person engaged in tour guiding who has successfully passed the Silver Badge Guide certification examinations; has been awarded the Certified (Silver Badge) Guide qualification by the Association’s Board of Directors (hereinafter “the Board”); and has been granted the title of Guide of Georgia by the General Assembly (hereinafter “the General Assembly”).
Candidate member – a natural person engaged in tour guiding who supports the activities of the Association but has not completed the relevant training or passed the Association’s certification examinations in accordance with the qualification requirements defined by the Board. A candidate member may participate in General Assembly meetings without voting rights. Candidate members are not eligible to be elected to the Association’s governing bodies.
– Only practicing guides are admitted as members of the Association, based on their qualifications and personal attributes, in accordance with the Association’s goals and objectives. Membership in the Association is not automatic.
– A member of the Association may not represent any specific organization or any other type of association within the Association.
